I am always on the lookout for new content to watch on YouTube. I particularly like watching tech related videos. If you have a channel which fits, please send details to hello@geekbrigade.co.uk provided all of the following apply:
- No shouting or screeching; I cannot tolerate excessive noise as I’m autistic.
- Subtitles please! Due to sensory issues and getting (a bit) old, I struggle to hear sometimes. For this reason, I gravitate towards videos with subtitles. I will use autogenerated CCs if it is the only option but I prefer proper subtitles.
- On a similar note, if you’re playing a game which involves reading and there is no voice acting, I will only watch your video if you read the text out loud.
- Longer videos – channels which contain mostly longer videos (>20 minutes) are my preference. I know many people don’t agree but I hate having to go from one video to another in rapid succession. If I wanted shorter videos, I’d be on TikTok.
- Stay focused. I typically don’t like videos which frequently go off-topic.
- If you are playing games, please concentrate on the game. I have no problem with people talking whilst they play but if you spend a lot of time talking without moving your character or performing an action then I’m not interested.
- No AI content. This is not optional. I can’t bear AI voices reading scripts which are typically full of errors.
Please note, if you ask me to review your content and I hate it then I will say so. I will not lie to spare your feelings. If you are not happy with this, please do not ask. I reserve the right to refuse to watch or review anything for any reason, I reserve the right to not give a reason and I will not be pressured into anything. As far as I’m concerned, you are entitled to nothing here.
